Democracy doesn’t mean people should talk anyhow; people who go wayward must be dealt with by the laws – Hon Akuoko Frimpong

Former District Chief Executive for Sekyere Central, Akuoko Frimpong, has sparked debate after asserting that democracy should not be used as a license for unchecked speech.
Speaking on Kessben FM during an interview with host Kofi Appiah, Frimpong emphasized the need for responsible expression within a democratic system.
“Democracy doesn’t mean people should talk anyhow; people who go wayward must be dealt with by the law,” he stated.
His comments come amid ongoing national discussions about the balance between freedom of speech and accountability in public discourse.
While some agree that there should be limits to prevent misinformation and harmful rhetoric, others argue that such views risk undermining fundamental civil liberties.
