People now go into politics to enrich themselves – Akuoko Frimpong
Former Sekyere Central District Chief Executive (DCE), Akouko Frimpong, has lamented what he describes as the growing trend of people entering politics primarily to enrich themselves.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Frimpong reportedly reflected on the sacrifices made by some of the older generation of political activists, saying their efforts appear to have yielded little compared with the benefits some people now seek through politics.
“One NPP guy recently told me that for us old DCEs like me, we sacrificed for nothing,” he said.
Frimpong suggested that the motivation for political participation has changed over the years, with some individuals allegedly viewing public office as an avenue for personal wealth rather than service to the country.
