Kotoko players do not get locker room bonuses because their management want the money in bulk & does not want their players to deal with BetPawa
Henry Asante Twum, the communication director of the Ghana football association has divulged that Asante Kotoko currently is the only premier league club that does not receive the locker room bonus from the title sponsor of the Ghana Premier League, BetPawa.
Henry in an interview with Sir Joe on Kessben FM’s Midfield Action Sports show revealed that the Kumasi-based football club and Karela were the only clubs that didn’t subscribe to BetPawa’s package to reward the players in the league but later on Karela subscribed.
He expounded that the reasons why Kotoko did not subscribe were that they wanted the monies to be paid in bulk for the club to give it to the players and also did not want BetPawa to deal directly with their players.
“Players of clubs have been receiving the locker room bonuses after every Matchday with the exception of Kotoko who didn’t subscribe.
They told BetPawa that the money should be put together and give it to them at once.
They said they won’t give the MoMo numbers of their players to BetPawa and also stressed that they don’t want BetPawa to deal with their players directly” Henry disclosed.
