It has been confirmed Top 6 because of Hearts but Kotoko now wants to pull out – Details
The GHALCA top 4 competition is set for a comeback on the Ghanaian football calender with six teams participating, unlike the usual 4 clubs, Kessben Sports has gathered.
The Ghana League Clubs Association apparently agreed with the Ghana Football Association to bring the competition back with four clubs participating but a further meeting has been held which will see the competition add 2 more teams to make it a 6 club competition for Accra Hearts of Oak to be among the competing clubs.
According to information gathered by Kessben Sports, a company which has agreed to sponsor the competition suggested to the organizers to make it a top 6 which will make Accra Hearts of Oak among the competing teams.
Some of the clubs are however not happy with the new arrangement by the organizers and are ready to seek redress at the law court.
The 2021-22 Ghana premier league champions, Asante Kotoko appear not to be happy about the new arrangement by The Ghana League Clubs Association.
Following the new arrangement, the Kumasi-based football club is dragging its feet to confirm participation in the tournament.
Kotoko has indicated that the timing of the competition is likely to clash with a scheduled journey for their pre-season outside the country.
