Aduana defeat ends Kotoko’s long home dominance in Kumasi – Bright Yeboah Taylor
Asante Kotoko’s 2-0 defeat to Aduana FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday has ended years of wait for the visitors to secure a league victory over the Porcupine Warriors in Kumasi.
Speaking on Kessben Sports, sports analyst Bright Yeboah Taylor highlighted the significance of the result, noting that it was the first time Aduana had beaten Kotoko in a league game at home.
Aduana secured all three points with a disciplined display despite playing more than 50 minutes with 10 men. Stephen Amankona opened the scoring early before Raymond Agyemang was sent off late in the first half. Seidu Saana then sealed the victory with a late counter-attacking goal.
The defeat was also Kotoko’s first loss of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season, while Aduana moved to seven points after four matches.
Significance of Aduana’s victory, as the Dormaa-based side ended a lengthy wait for a league win against Kotoko on their home ground in Kumasi.
