All set for Ghana Music Week 2016 Festival
The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) is set to kick off Ghana Music Week 2016 Festival tomorrow with a media launch on GH One TV and on all EIB Network stations and affiliates.
Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Hon Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare will be assisted by, the Mayor of Accra Hon Okoe Vanderpuije and the Public Affairs Officer at the American Embassy Danny Fennell.
This year’s edition of Ghana Music Week Festival features a series of activities which includes the Ghana Music Day celebration on March 2 on the media with radio and television stations playing Ghanaian music all day to mark the day.
This will be followed by the Ghana Music Investment Forum on Thursday March 3 at the British Council Hall and will climax with the International Music Expo on March 4 at the National Theatre.
According to the President of MUSIGA, Bice Osei Kuffour this year’s programme is based on feedback from the industry and linked to the original idea of creating a festival feel for Ghana Music Week.
He indicated that the Music Investment Forum will bring together financial experts, investment consultants and copyright authorities. The forum will attract musicians, artiste managers, music producers, industry workers and the general public.
Regarding the International Music Expo on March 4 at the National Theatre, he said the event is to highlight the music of some of the foreign missions in Ghana like the United States, Belgium, China and India as well as the great cultural exports of Ghana. Some Ghanaian artistes on the bill include Wiyaala, Sherifa Gunu, Dr Knii Lante and Dela Boutri.
