New Legal Education reforms break Ghana School of Law monopoly – Dominic Brenya Okyere

Dominic Brenya Okyere has praised Ghana’s new legal education reforms, describing them as a major step toward ending the long-standing monopoly held by the Ghana School of Law over professional legal training in the country.
Speaking on Kessben FM, Lawyer Okyere said the reforms would expand access to legal education and create more opportunities for qualified law graduates to pursue professional training without facing the bottlenecks that existed under the previous system.
According to him, for many years the Ghana School of Law remained the sole institution responsible for professional legal training, a situation that limited admissions and frustrated many aspiring lawyers. He noted that the new reforms are expected to decentralize legal education and improve fairness in the admission process.
He further stated that the changes would strengthen Ghana’s justice system by producing more legal professionals to serve the growing needs of the country. Lawyer Okyere urged stakeholders in the legal sector to support the reforms to ensure their successful implementation.
