The Kessben Outreach Foundation has cut sod for the construction of a six-classroom block for the Kansaso community in the Asante Akyem North District of the Ashanti region.
The building when completed will replace the dilapidated 37-year-old building which has currently turned into a death trap, a situation which deters both students and teachers from going to school.
The building when completed will include, a staff common room, store and headmaster’s office as well as a place of convenience to serve both staff and students.
Kansaso is a settlers community in the Asante Akyem North Municipal of the Ashanti region which shares a border with the Eastern region.
Numbering about 500 in the community, the indigents are mainly crop and fish farmers.
In a short but colourful ceremony to cut the sod to mark the commencement of the project, the assemblyman for the Abrabo electoral area, Hon Akpabli in his welcome address expressed the community’s appreciation to the foundation for the support.
According to him, the situation of the school has negatively affected attendance and enrollment since most of the parents have resorted to sending their wards to schools in nearby communities which they see as safer.
The founder of the school, Ben Huozih who was so much elated to witness the transformation of the school expressed his utmost gratitude to the Kessben Outreach Foundation.
According to, Sammy Adu Boakye, the General manager for the Kessben Outreach Foundation, an old student of the school drew the attention of the awful condition of the school to the Foundation for assistance.
Some members of the community also expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the Kessben Outreach Foundation.
