Andy Kerm hits back at Aduana CEO Atta Poku over GHC1m Premier League support

Sports journalist Andy Kerm has taken a swipe at Aduana FC Chief Executive Officer Atta Poku over his praise for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following the government’s decision to provide GHC1 million to each Ghana Premier League club.

Kerm argued that the commendation should have been directed at the government rather than the GFA, insisting that it is the government providing the financial support to the clubs.

“Your praise for the GFA about the GHC1m to the Premier League clubs should have gone to the Government because it’s the Government that’s paying the money,” Kerm told Atta Poku.

The government’s financial intervention is expected to provide much-needed relief to Premier League clubs as they prepare for the new season, with many clubs facing significant operational and financial challenges.

While the GFA is responsible for administering and regulating football in the country, Kerm believes recognition for the financial commitment should primarily go to the government, which is providing the funds.
