Marine Transport Push Gains Momentum as Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro MCE Woos Foreign Investors

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro, Hon. Moses Kabu Kubi Ocansey, has revealed plans to introduce marine transport along Ghana’s coastal belt as part of efforts to ease traffic congestion and complement the country’s road transport system.
Speaking at the Empowered Entrepreneur Forum organized in the municipality, the MCE said Ghana’s transport sector continues to face challenges due to narrow roads and inadequate infrastructure, leading to persistent traffic congestion in both urban and rural communities.
According to him, discussions are already underway with foreign investors to develop a marine transport system that will improve mobility and boost economic activities across coastal communities.
Hon. Ocansey also highlighted a number of development projects being pursued under his administration, including road construction, healthcare facilities, a 24-hour market initiative, and educational infrastructure aimed at improving living conditions in the municipality.
The MCE further disclosed plans to partner investors to establish a starch processing factory, a move expected to create jobs and reduce unemployment among the youth.
Meanwhile, founder of the Empowered Entrepreneur Forum, Rev. Eric Amanquanor, announced that a group of investors is expected in August 2026 to explore business opportunities and support community development initiatives.
Rev. Amanquanor expressed optimism about the future of entrepreneurship in the area, stressing that some businesses require
capital and machinery while others also need strategic partnerships, retail opportunities, and market access to thrive.
He urged entrepreneurs to view business as a calling and pledged to make the next edition of the forum bigger and more impactful following what he described as the success of this year’s event.
