“Experience Matters” Dr. Dacosta Aboagye Throws Weight Behind Nana Akomea for 1st Vice

Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr. Dacosta Aboagye, has expressed confidence in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) preparations for the 2028 general elections, saying the party’s “journey to victory” is firmly on course.

According to Dr. Aboagye, the successful completion of the party’s regional elections marks an important step in the NPP’s rebuilding and rebranding efforts ahead of the 2028 elections.

He congratulated the newly elected regional officers and urged them to embrace the responsibility that comes with their positions.

“With the regional elections now successfully concluded, the party has elected competent and dedicated personalities from across the regions to steer its affairs,” Dr. Aboagye said.

Dr. Aboagye noted that attention will now shift to the NPP’s national elections, scheduled for October 3, 2026.

He described the upcoming national elections as an important chapter in the party’s efforts to rebuild its structures, strengthen its leadership and rebrand ahead of the 2028 general elections.

“What’s ahead is an important chapter in its rebuilding and rebranding efforts,” he said.

As the NPP prepares for its national elections, Dr. Aboagye has thrown his support behind veteran communicator Nana Akomea, who is preparing to contest for the position of First Vice Chairman.

Dr. Aboagye described Nana Akomea as an “exceptional communicator” with considerable experience and a strong reputation within the country.

“And now, a giant within the party is preparing to enter the race for First Vice Chairman,” he said.

“He is an exceptional communicator, highly experienced, and widely respected across the Republic. His leadership, voice and commitment to the party make him a formidable choice for the task ahead.”

He believes the party’s ongoing internal processes will help strengthen its structures and prepare it for the next national electoral contest.

“The rebuilding has begun. The victory journey continues. 2028 is on course!” he said.

The NPP’s national elections on October 3, 2026, are therefore expected to be closely watched as the party seeks to consolidate its internal structures and chart a path towards the 2028 general elections.
