Former NUGS President Yiadom Boakye Emmanuel (YB) declares bid for NPP Ashanti Regional Youth organiser

Former National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) President, Yiadom Boakye Emmanuel, popularly known as YB, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region.
YB enters the race with an extensive record of student and youth leadership spanning more than a decade. He served as President of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) from 2013 to 2014, where he played a key role in mobilising and mentoring young party activists.
His leadership credentials were further strengthened when he served as Coordinating Secretary of the National Union of Ghana Students from 2016 to 2017, before rising to become NUGS President from 2021 to 2022. He also served as Deputy Secretary of the Opoku Ware School Old Boys Association from 2022 to 2023.
In announcing his candidature, YB pledged to energise the party’s youth wing across the Ashanti Region, deepen grassroots mobilisation, and create opportunities for young people to actively participate in the party’s growth and development.
His declaration has already generated significant interest among party faithful and youth activists, many of whom view his experience, organisational skills, and commitment to youth empowerment as key strengths in the contest for the influential regional position.
The upcoming election is expected to attract keen attention as the NPP seeks to strengthen its youth structures ahead of future political engagements.
