DCE for Amansie South district, Benjamin Marfo, rolls out fantastic development plan for the district

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie South District, Hon. Benjamin Marfo, has outlined his vision for the development of the district, emphasizing local development and infrastructure improvement as key priorities.
Speaking at the Third Ordinary Meeting of the Second Session of the District Assembly, Hon. Marfo stated that his administration is committed to accelerating development projects across the district. He noted that with the central government’s readiness to release the District Assemblies Common Fund, the assembly is prepared to utilize the funds prudently to address the district’s pressing needs.
According to the DCE, discussions at the meeting focused largely on mobilizing funds to support the operation and maintenance of the district’s DRIP machines, which are expected to play a crucial role in road rehabilitation efforts.
Hon. Marfo identified the poor state of road networks linking various communities in the district as one of the major challenges facing Amansie South. He stressed the need for the effective deployment of the DRIP machines to improve road accessibility and facilitate economic activities.
The DCE also highlighted improvements in sanitation and market infrastructure, adding that preparations are underway to support the government’s 24-hour economy initiative through the development of local markets.
Meanwhile, the Presiding Member of the Assembly, Hon. Peter Awere, raised concerns about persistent mobile network challenges in parts of the district. He noted that poor telecommunications services continue to make it difficult for residents to communicate with their relatives and access essential services.
Hon. Awere also expressed concern over unstable electricity supply in Manso Adubia and surrounding communities, describing it as a critical issue that requires urgent attention. He assured residents that he would work closely with relevant stakeholders to address the challenges and improve living conditions within the district.
