Lexy Abena Boahen urges NPP delegates to prioritize competence over cronyism

Ashanti Regional Deputy Secretary hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lexy Abena Boahen, has urged party delegates to elect competent executives who can strengthen the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Speaking on Kessben FM, Ms. Boahen called on delegates to avoid voting based on cronyism and instead focus on the competence, experience, and commitment of candidates seeking leadership positions.

According to her, the NPP’s chances of winning the 2028 general elections will largely depend on the quality of executives elected to steer the affairs of the party at the regional and constituency levels.

“Let’s not vote based on cronyism. Let’s choose competent executives to lead the party to victory in the 2028 general elections,” she said.

Ms. Boahen emphasized that electing capable leaders would strengthen the party’s structures, promote unity, and enhance grassroots mobilization as the NPP prepares for the next national elections.
