There are plenty of preserved foods, but ingredients to cook them are the issues – Chairman of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS), Sulemana Yeboah Zakaria

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) has raised concerns about ongoing logistical challenges affecting food preparation in senior high schools.
Speaking on Kessben FM with Wofa Kofi Appiah, he disclosed that many schools have even converted computer rooms into storage spaces for food items due to the high volume of preserved food available.
However, he noted that despite the abundance of stored food, schools are facing a critical challenge, the shortage of essential ingredients needed to properly prepare meals for students.
He explained that the situation continues to place pressure on school authorities and affects the smooth implementation of the Free SHS feeding system, calling for urgent attention to supply chain and resource management issues.
