Ghanaians were mocking people for using “china goods” but now in every household in Ghana, 95% of the things there are Chinese products – Rev Kankam

Vincent Kankam, speaking on his radio show on Kessben FM, reflected on how perceptions can change over time when people refuse to give up. He recalled that when Chinese products first began entering the Ghanaian market, many Ghanaians mocked those who used them, dismissing such items as inferior “China goods.”
According to Rev. Kankam, that ridicule did not stop the steady flow of Chinese investment and products. Instead, consistency, improvement, and persistence gradually changed the narrative.
Today, he emphasized, if one carefully looks around the average Ghanaian home, nearly 95% of the items found there are Chinese-made products, from electronics and kitchenware to building materials and everyday household tools.
Rev. Kankam used this reality to stress a powerful lesson: beginnings are often misunderstood. Mockery and criticism are not signs of failure but challenges that test determination.
He urged listeners not to give up on their ideas, businesses, or callings simply because they are initially looked down upon.
