NPP Needs New Mindset To Win 2028: Kwame Amo Prempeh Files For National Organiser, Unveils 3-Point Strategy

NPP National Organiser aspirant, Kwame Amo Prempeh, has filed his nomination to contest the National Organiser position at the party’s National Delegates Conference slated for October 3 in Kumasi.

Speaking after filing, Amo Prempeh said the NPP has reached an era where it must do things differently to secure victory in 2028.

“We have reached an era in the party where we have to do things differently, where we cannot continue to do what we were doing some time ago and then expect different results. We need to change our mindset. We need to change our ways of doing things, and the party has started already,” he said.

He pointed to the party’s decision to elect its presidential candidate before national executive elections as a sign of reform.

“For the first time in our history, we decided to vote for our presidential candidate before we do national elections. This was a sign and a signal to the rest of the party that we are ready to mend ourselves, we are ready to do what is required to be able to win 2028, so that we can come and develop Ghana as we have done under President Kufuor and we did under President Nana Akufo-Addo.”

According to him, the NPP’s defeat in 2024 was due to apathy within its own base.

“There are a lot of good things that we did, but we were not able to carry the people along. If you look at the elections in 2024, it was not NDC who won. It was NPP people who did not come out to vote,” he stated.

First Task: Bring Back Love For The Party
Amo Prempeh said his first task as National Organiser will be to restore love and trust for the party.

“My first task as National Organiser is to ensure that we bring back the love for the party, that we go to our people and talk to them. Whatever went wrong, we admit. This is for Mother Ghana. This is for the NPP. It’s not for us as individuals,” he said.

Unity Non-Negotiable
He stressed that unity is the foundation for victory.

“I stand here and scream on top of my lungs. If we don’t unite as a party, there is no way we win 2028. Let no one make this mistake that because NDC is mismanaging the country, automatically Ghanaians will vote for us. Ghanaians have different expectations of the NPP than the NDC. Things that the NDC will get away with, the NPP will not be forgiven, because the Ghanaian people know that we are the ones that can bring Ghana forward. So if we fail them, they have no other hope.”

He called on party members to unite behind Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and behind his candidacy as National Organiser.

His 3-Point Strategy: Plan, Equip, Mobilize
Amo Prempeh outlined a three-pronged strategy to win power.

“I have three strategies. The first one is strategic planning. We need to put our plans early and strategically. We need to equip ourselves from the grassroots. We need to equip the polling station, equip the electoral area, equip constituency, equip the region, and then we equip the national.”

“After we’ve equipped ourselves, we have to ensure that our security is tight.”

He added that social media will be central to his organisation.

“A big part of my plans is that we are not going to leave social media behind. Social media is going to be a make-or-break for 2028, and we in NPP are going to take social media seriously at all levels of our party.”

On mobilization, he announced a new meeting structure.

“We need to start mobilizing from the ground up. We are going to start to implement once a month polling station meetings, once every three months electoral area meetings, and once every three months constituency meetings. That is going to help us mobilize ourselves so that we can mobilize others to come and help us.”

Organiser For All Wings
The aspirant said he will not be an Organiser for only one wing.

“We have four wings under the organisation. We have the youth organising wing, we have the women’s wing, we have the Nasara wing, and because we are an inclusive party, we have added the people with disability wing. I am going to be a National Organiser for all. There are resources that will go to all of them, and we are going to work together.”

He concluded with a rallying call: “We, the NPP, are the only party that can bring Ghana forward. We are going to start early and ensure that we win 2028. And by the 7th of January, 2029, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will be sworn in as President, and the NPP will form the next government.”
