The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) has officially closed filing of nominations for the 2026 National Officers Elections.
In a press statement signed by Chairman Frederick Opare-Ansah, the Committee said filing closed at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, with 47 aspirants successfully filing to contest various positions.
This comes after 50 persons initially purchased nomination forms.
Three Aspirants Fail To File
According to the NOEC, three aspirants who bought forms did not file by the deadline:
1. Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi) – National Chairperson: The Committee said Mr. Boasiako formally wrote to withdraw his candidature and thanked the party for the opportunity. NOEC acknowledged his communication.
2. Evans Kodom – National Communications Director: Mr. Kodom accompanied Dennis Miracles Aboagye during filing and announced his decision to step out of the contest. Consequently, Dennis Miracles Aboagye is the sole aspirant for National Communications Director and will proceed to vetting as a potentially unopposed candidate, subject to successful vetting.
3. Perpetual Ekua Lomokie Akwada – National Women Organiser: She did not present her completed forms by the close of nominations and will not proceed to vetting.
Vetting Begins Monday
With filing concluded, the Committee will begin vetting of the 47 aspirants from Monday, August 31 to Thursday, September 3, 2026.
The schedule is as follows:
Monday, August 31: National Chairperson, General Secretary, National Treasurer
Tuesday, September 1: National Vice Chairperson
Wednesday, September 2: National Organiser, National Youth Organiser
Thursday, September 3: National Communications Director, National Nasara Organiser, National Women Organiser
The NOEC said specific details on time, venue and requirements will be communicated directly to aspirants and urged them to remain accessible.
The Committee thanked aspirants for an orderly process and commended the media for extensive coverage, assuring of a fair, transparent and credible vetting process.
