Yes, God is merciful, but do not deceive yourself by hurting people and expecting to go scot-free – Rev. Vincent Kankam warns fanfoolers

Reverend Vincent Kankam has issued a strong caution to individuals who take advantage of God’s mercy as an excuse to mistreat others.
Speaking on his show on Kessben FM, Rev. Kankam emphasized that while God is indeed forgiving and compassionate, divine mercy should never be used as a shield for deliberate wrongdoing.
According to him, some people knowingly hurt others, emotionally, financially, or physically, and still believe they can escape the consequences simply by asking for forgiveness afterward. Rev. Kankam described this mindset as spiritually dangerous, noting that God judges the intentions of the heart, not just the words of repentance.
He stressed that true Christianity requires responsibility, empathy, and accountability. Repentance, he said, is meaningful only when accompanied by sincere change and efforts to make things right with those who have been wronged.
Rev. Kankam urged the public to live with integrity and compassion, reminding them that harm done to others does not go unnoticed, either by society or by God. He concluded by encouraging believers to pursue righteousness not out of fear of punishment, but out of genuine love for God and fellow human beings.
