The current security personnnel around the Kotoko team are “women” soft – Adamu Bello, Former Kotoko Security

Former Asante Kotoko security official, Adamu Bello, has publicly criticized the current security personnel assigned to the Kotoko team. Speaking in an interview on Kessben TV, Bello described the present security team as “soft” and “women-hearted,” implying that they are not sufficiently tough or prepared to handle the security challenges that come with protecting a high-profile football team like Kotoko.
Bello, who served as a key figure in the security setup during his time with Kotoko, emphasized that maintaining tight security around the team is critical, especially given the intense rivalries and passionate fanbase that the club commands. According to Bello, the current security personnel lack the resolve and toughness needed to safeguard the players, management, and supporters in such a high-stakes environment.
The tragic death of Pooley, which has shocked the football world, has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of those involved in Ghanaian football, particularly within the high-profile clubs. Pooley’s passing has underscored the vulnerability of key figures in the sport, and the criticism of the current security team reflects a growing sense of urgency to address potential security gaps.
Adamu Bello didn’t mince his words, stating that the security around Kotoko and other clubs in the country needs to be reinforced. “The current security around the team is soft, they are ‘women-hearted.’ It is a dangerous thing in the environment we are in,” Bello said, underlining the importance of having a strong, vigilant security presence.
He further argued that the security personnel must be well-trained, experienced, and mentally prepared to handle any situation, including threats from unruly fans, opponents, and any other individuals who may seek to cause harm. According to Bello, the soft approach currently taken by the security team is inadequate and could put the lives of players and other club officials at risk.
