We will open application for a new head coach at the end of the season & preferably we want a foreign coach – Kotoko confirms

Asante Kotoko SC is set to begin the search for a new substantive head coach at the end of the current season, with a strong preference for appointing a foreign tactician. This was confirmed by the club’s Communication Director, Sarfo Duku, during an interview on Kessben TV.
The announcement comes in the wake of the sacking of Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, whose second stint at the club ended prematurely due to a string of underwhelming performances and off-the-pitch issues. In the interim, Coach Karim Zito has been appointed to take charge of the team until a permanent replacement is found.
“At the end of the season, we will officially open applications for the role of head coach. This time, management is keen on bringing in a foreign coach who can bring a new perspective, discipline, and fresh tactical direction to the team.” He said on Kessben TV.
He added that the decision is part of the club’s broader plan to rebuild and modernize its technical structure, aiming to return Kotoko to its dominant status both locally and on the continent.
In the meantime, experienced Ghanaian coach Karim Zito has been handed the reins on an interim basis. A respected figure in Ghana football circles and a veteran of youth football development, Coach Zito is expected to stabilize the team for the remainder of the season.
As the season nears its end, the Porcupine Warriors will be under close scrutiny, both for their performance on the pitch and the decisions made off it. For now, the spotlight turns to Coach Karim Zito who also doubles as the club new technical director, has the task of steadying the ship until a permanent successor is found.
