Ghana vs CHAD: ‘I’ve been told to eat before watching your match’ – President Mahama to Black Stars
Due to the emotional toll of watching live football, President John Dramani Mahama has disclosed that he has been advised to eat before the Black Stars’ 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad on Friday.
Prior to their important qualifying matches against Chad and Madagascar, Mahama made the statement on Wednesday while attending the team’s training session at the Accra Sports Stadium.
“I will take time off and watch the game myself. Even though my heart is not very good at watching soccer, I will brave it [to watch you on Friday].”
“They said I should eat before I go and sit down, and my hope is that you’ll justify my sitting and watching you guys,” he told the players on a lighter note.
He expressed faith in the team’s ability to overcome recent setbacks and urged them to make Ghanaians proud.
