‘No one hates NDC’s ORAL (Operation Recover All Loots) but it appears they only want to disgrace some people with it” – NPP’s Awal Mohammed

Awal Mohammed, a key communicator for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has weighed in on the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s controversial Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) initiative. According to Mohammed, while no one is inherently opposed to the idea of recovering stolen state funds, it seems that the NDC’s approach is less about justice and more about embarrassing individuals, particularly those affiliated with the NPP.

Awal Mohammed speaking on Kessben TV with Kwame Appiah Kubi remarked that there is something troubling about how ORAL is being implemented. In his view, the initiative, rather than focusing on genuine investigations and the recovery of funds, seems more like a political tool designed to tarnish the reputations of certain individuals—especially those who were previously in power under the NPP administration..

According to Mohammed, there must be a fair and balanced process for dealing with corruption. In any democratic society, investigations into alleged wrongdoing should be transparent and conducted without bias. If the NDC’s ORAL initiative is to gain credibility, it must demonstrate that it is not merely a tool for political showmanship or personal vendettas.
