Deputy Minister of Education Visits Ghana TVET Service, Calls for Support in Advancing Gov’ts Transformation Agenda
The Deputy Minister of Education responsible for TVET, Prof. Kingsley Nyarko, paid an official visit to the Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Service headquarters on Tuesday, 3rd September, 2024 where he was warmly welcomed by the Director-General of the Service, Mr. David Prah, along with key staff and officials.
The visit formed part of the Deputy Minister’s ongoing engagement with educational institutions nationwide, aimed at fostering closer collaboration between the Ministry and the Ghana TVET Service as the government intensifies her efforts to transforming the educational landscape in Ghana.
In his welcome address, Mr. David Prah expressed the Service’s appreciation for the Deputy Minister’s visit and reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to the government’s education agenda, particularly in the area of vocational and technical education. He highlighted ongoing initiatives to enhance the quality and accessibility of TVET programs across the nation and pledged the Service’s full support in achieving the government’s goals.
After a brief speech, the Deputy Minister engaged with the staff of the TVET Service in a question-and-answer session. Prof. Nyarko addressed several inquiries from the audience, focusing on the government’s strategic plans for the TVET sector. He emphasized the crucial role of TVET in driving the country’s industrialization and economic growth, urging the staff to align their efforts with the broader national transformation agenda.
In response to questions about resource allocation and infrastructure development, Prof. Nyarko assured the staff that the government remains committed to addressing these challenges.
