Bible Society Of Ghana Brings Hope To Traumatic Victims
The Bible society of Ghana (BSG) in collaboration with the Trauma Healing Institute has organized a 2 days Trauma Healing Community of Practice conference, 2024 under the theme “Strength From weakness: The Path To Resilience,” in Accra.
The conference is aimed at creating awareness on issues relating to trauma and its effects on humanity with reference to the post COVID – 19 pandemic and other related traumatic subjects.
Speaking at the conference, Former Secondlady, Matilda Amissah – Arthur said traumatic challenges cut across all human endeavors and urged people to share their traumatic experiences with the requisite outfit for quick recovery.
According to her, trauma is part of human life and urged people to seek professional help from counsellors as well as clinical psychologist since persons can easily be healed through such Practioners.
She therefore advised victims to make their issues known for the relevant bodies to come to their aid saying engaging the appropriate institutions gives a sense of hope to traumatic people.
For his part, the Head of Psychologist Department of the University of Ghana, Rev. Prof. Joseph Osafo Adu said trauma healing programme creates a platform for victims to share experiences and challenges, adding that the gesture takes away the anxiety that is associated with traumatic people.
He however encourage people to seek held and apply the needed measures to promote healthy growth and personal development and explained that it is the surest way to address trauma challenges.
In a related development, the occasion was used to launch a traumatic healing mobile app which forms part of a project geared towards bringing hope for victims primarily through counselling by seasoned practioners.
