U-20 AFCON: Ghana’s own Frederick Acheampong appointed as General Coordinator
Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association Frederick Acheampong will work as a General Coordinator at the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations that is scheduled from Sunday, February 19 to Sunday, March 11, 2023 in Egypt.
His main duty will be to steer organizational activities before, during and after the match and also to ensure that personnel with the requisite skills have adequate training and skills to be able to deliver.
His tasks also includes, team arrangement stadium and training field preparation, match day operations, media and spectator services and security.
Frederick Acheampong has provided services for a number of CAF organized competitions including the 2021 CAF Super Cup between Al Ahly and Raja Casablanca, the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations in Senegal, the 2021 Beach Soccer Cup of Nations in Senegal and other CAF Inter club competitions.
The CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations will also double as the African qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup to be held in Indonesia. The top four teams from this championship will qualify for the World Cup.
Ghana were the defending champions, having won our 4th title in 2021, but will not defend the title after failing to qualify for this year’s tournament.
