Market Women of Anyinam in the Atiwa East District in the Eastern Region are living in fear and calling on the security agencies to come to their rescue.
According to the market women, they have received a letter from unknown armed robbers who have planned to rob them.
Speaking to MyNewsGh.com, they were panicked because this is not the first time such notices have reached them, and anytime they received such notices, they are been robbed.
“Thisis not the first time we have received such notice, we have received some before and truly they came to rob us…we all scared at this moment,” they told MyNewsGh.com correspondent.
At the time of our visit, some market women are planning to move their goods home or perhaps relocate, some have resorted to hiring watchmen and others to sleep in their stores.
When asked if there was any date in the letter they said “no, the only thing in the letter is we should be prepared as they will come and rob us”.
“Whether they will come in the morning, afternoon, evening, or dawn, we don’t know, and our fear is they have done this before, tell the government and the security agencies to come and help us, we are helpless now,” the market women cried.
