Stonebwoy and E.L are 2015 4syte MVA big winners
The 2015 edition of the annual 4syte Music Video Awards was held in Accra over the weekend, with dancehall musician Stonebwoy and popular hip-hop artiste E.L emerging as top winners.
Stonebwoy bagged three awards—“Best Reggae/Dancehall Video”, “Best Directed Video” and “Most Influential Artiste”—while E.L’s music video for his song, “King Without A Crown” was adjudged the “Best Special Effect Video of the Year” and the “Best Edited Video of the Year.”
This year’s 4syte Music Video Awards was hosted by Joselyn Dumas and John Dumelo and had performances from Keche, Kiss Daniel, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, R2bees and a host of others.
Among entertainment personalities at the ceremony were 2face Idibia, Lydia Forson, Sandra Ankobiah, VVIP, Fred Nuamah, James Gardner and a host of others.
Some personalities boycotted the awards ceremony on various grounds.
Ahead of the show on Saturday, Kwaw Kese twitted: “I’m officially boycotting the @official4syteTV #MTN4SYTEMVA15 tonight for lack of respect to me as a nominee. I wish them the best tonight.”
The show itself didn’t live up to expectations. It wasn’t without setbacks. Stakeholders described it in different ways but the awards ceremony joined the inventory of shows that have been unable to draw enough patrons to fill the Accra International Conference Centre. There were also unnecessary technical hiccups with regard to displaying nominees for the various categories using a projector, which ruined the beauty of the show.
