33 years of service will speak for me: Abankwa Yeboah appeals to delegates after picking number 3 for NPP First Vice Chairman race
Former two-term National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party, George Kwabena Abankwa Yeboah, says picking number 3 on the ballot is divine and believes God will give him victory on October 3 to become the next National First Vice Chairman of the NPP.
Speaking to the media after balloting at the NPP headquarters in Accra, Mr. Abankwa Yeboah said number 3 aligns perfectly with the date of the election and represents victory.
The veteran party financier appealed to delegates to consider his 33-year track record of dedicated service to the NPP, which began as a Polling Station Chairman in the then Kwadaso-Oforikrom constituency, now Oforikrom.
He noted that as Greater Accra Regional Treasurer, he worked diligently to increase the party’s parliamentary seats from 9 to 16 before moving to the national office.
At the national level, where he served as Treasurer for two terms, Mr. Abankwa Yeboah said he introduced several innovative fundraising initiatives to support party activities.
“Adopt a Polling Station was one of my babies. In addition to that, we did the Nana Scratch Card, where the scratch card donated units which was in monetary terms to the party,” he stated.
He also revealed that he established a printing house for the party to cut down the cost of printing voters registers and party albums during elections.
Mr. Abankwa Yeboah further disclosed that the almost one-acre land opposite the current NPP headquarters was acquired through his efforts in collaboration with the then National Chairman and other executives.
“We are hoping that when they give me the nod, we’ll come and put up a befitting head office on the advice of the chairperson for the party,” he said.
According to him, the NPP has reached a crossroads and needs experienced leaders who are not only experienced but have delivered results and are ready to sacrifice for the party.
He stressed that with parliamentary primaries approaching, the party needs leaders who can patch up differences, resolve post-primary issues, and bring everyone on board to forge ahead in peace towards winning the 2028 election.
Mr. Abankwa Yeboah promised to deliver on all his commitments if given the nod as First Vice Chairman, urging delegates to believe in number 3.
George Kwabena Abankwa Yeboah served as National Treasurer of the NPP for two terms and is regarded as one of the party’s most experienced financial administrators.
The NPP will hold its National Delegates Conference on October 3, 2026 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to elect new national executives to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.
