GFA becomes first African association to be connected to FIFA Connect Programme
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has become the first African association to be connected to the FIFA Connect Programme.
Officials FIFA and CAF are in the country to deplore the system which will see the GFA’s data on players and officials connected to the FIFA platform.
The FIFA Connect Programme will enable Member Associations to engage with their stakeholders, while improving transparency and minor protection.
Among the officials who are currently in Ghana till Friday, Project Manager of the FIFA Connect platform Mr. Sam Martins, Elizabeth Melinda Eastman (Coordinator of FIFA IT), Sampon Kablan (FIFA Development) etc.
FIFA has taken steps towards the implementation of a pioneering global football stakeholder registration programme that will gather data from every corner of the footballing world.
The goals of the programme include the systematic registration of players and other stakeholders, the establishment of information systems standards for the exchange of data across national borders, and the promotion of a more fact-based management of football development activities following a global standard.
Connect will also serve to further ensure the protection of minors and the execution of FIFA’s solidarity mechanisms.
