A political scientist at the Spiritan University Dr Kofi Owusu Yeboah has blamed the rising corruption in the country to lack of supervision and the inability of the country’s institutions especially the judiciary to bring to book such culprits.
He accuses some politicians and high ranking officials of various institutions of taking bribes to deliver services for which they are duly paid.
He was speaking in an interview with Sir Richmond Antwi Boasiako on Royal fm’s morning show.
Dr Kofi Owusu Yeboah stated that anyone who gets access to any position in Ghana has developed the mindset of using it to estort money from others.
He further stated that “Ghanaians who hold various positions in the country must know that they are in to offer service to humanity and not their personal interest”.
He laments that many Ghanaians fail to live up to the Christian and Muslim labels they bear. “Most Ghanaians lack the fear of God and this has led to Ghana being turned to a country of liars and thieves’’ he pointed out.
