NDC Paid Bloggers to Claim Mahama Completed Pokuase–Nsawam Road – Kofi Tonto

Spokesperson for Employment for NPP’s Policy Committee, Kofi Tonto, has challenged the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stop taking sole credit for the construction of the Pokuase–Nsawam stretch of the Accra-Kumasi highway.

According to him, about 70 percent of the work on the road had already been completed before former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo left office.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM, Kofi Tonto said the Akufo-Addo administration had completed what he described as the most difficult aspects of the road construction before the change in government.

“Before former President Akufo-Addo left office, the majority of the work had been done on the Pokuase–Nsawam road stretch. It was 70 percent complete.”

He questioned why the NDC administration would claim credit for the project without acknowledging the contribution of the previous government.

Tonto argued that while the current administration may have continued or completed portions of the project, the foundation and significant progress had already been made under the Akufo-Addo government.

The former Bawumia aide also accused the NDC of using bloggers to create the impression that the John Mahama administration was solely responsible for completing the Pokuase–Nsawam road.

He alleged that some bloggers had been paid to promote what he described as a misleading narrative about the project’s history.

“The NDC have paid bloggers to deceive the public that the John Mahama government completed Pokuase–Nsawam road.”

The Pokuase–Nsawam stretch is a key part of the road network linking Accra to communities along the Accra-Kumasi corridor and is considered important to commuters and commercial transport operators.
