Madam Akua Donkor, founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) in the 2012 elections, was chased away from the voting centre of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Tongo in the Talensi District in the Upper East Region by angry NPP youth.
Madam Donkor arrived in the company of her supporters, numbering about 15 on motorbikes and a pickup, and mounted with a public address system at the Tongo Social Centre where the NPP primary was taking place last Sunday.
She alighted with her supporters and headed towards the voting centre to interact with some observers.
It was when she was returning to her vehicle that the angry youth of the party rushed at her and started banging her vehicle, accusing her of having been paid by the NDC to come and disorganise their elections.
She had to be whisked away by her driver, disrupting an interview she was about to grant the media covering the primaries.
