Deputy National Organiser and aspiring National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei Asamoah, says his vetting was perfect and he was by far the best aspirant to appear before the committee.
Speaking to the media after his vetting at the NPP headquarters in Accra on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, Chris Lloyd said he did not go to be vetted but to diagnose the problems of the party.
“I would say this has been perfect. I believe the committee can attest to the fact that I’ve been the best aspirant so far. In fact, I was not there to be vetted. I went there to tell them the problems of the party and the solutions. At a point they were like, okay, it’s okay. This is something we’ve done for so many years. This is not news for us. As a Deputy National Organiser, I don’t think I should have challenges with a vetting committee. We all know. This is one of the little things I do. So the vetting was perfect,” he said.
On his message to delegates ahead of the October 3 National Delegates Conference, the Deputy National Organiser said delegates deserve better and he is the one person with the experience and exposure to fix the party from polling station to national level.
“One message I want to give to our delegates – they deserve better. And there’s this one person who has the experience, who has the exposure, who understands the roots of our party, who understands the challenges in our grassroots, polling station, constituency level, regional level, even at the national level. I’ve been with them. I’ve been in it. I’ve lived in it, and I know the solutions. So they should entrust everything on me, and I’ll deliver,” he said.
Chris Lloyd said if elected as National Youth Organiser, he will build a strong security force and a strong youth wing, with special focus on TESCON, which he said has been neglected.
“I’m coming to build a strong security force. I’m coming to build a strong youth wing. In fact, TESCON – let me say this: in our party, it has been a norm that every Youth Organiser automatically, if you are qualified to lead YEA, automatically the party will help you to get that opportunity. If all Youth Organisers are going to YEA, even regional Youth Organisers also go to YEA, the question is, what happens to TESCON? Where are they also going? Who thinks about them?” he quizzed.
He said TESCON is the intellectual wing of the NPP but members have nothing to boast of after serving.
“I am coming. I’ll make sure that they also get it. TESCON is the intellectual wing of our party. So if you are giving the grassroots opportunity to serve at the YEA level or any other, what happens to TESCON? We are killing our TESCON not because we are not mobilizing them or we are not engaging them. It is because there is nothing to boast of. And TESCON President goes home today and he forgets that he was even a TESCON President. I am coming to help them with scholarships. In fact, there is a lot,” he said.
Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei Asamoah is currently the Deputy National Organiser of the NPP and is now seeking to lead the party’s youth wing as National Youth Organiser.
The NPP will elect new national executives on October 3, 2026 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to lead the party’s reorganisation towards the 2028 general elections.
