Accra hit by Earth Tremor on Friday Morning

According to the Ghana Geological Survey Authority (GGSA), the morning tremor on Friday measured 2.8 on the Ritcher scale.

In a statement signed by the Ghana Geological Survey Authority on Friday (10 March) said the tremor was felt slightly throughout Accra Central, including High Street, Ridge, and other areas.

This is the second time in less than three months that Accra has been rocked by tremor.

“On Friday 10th March an earth tremor event occurred around 9:49 am in parts of the Greater Accra Region.”

“The event has a magnitude of 2.8 on the Ritcher scale,” the GGSA statement said.
