GFA-Gov’t GH¢1 million support to GPL clubs still unpaid – Berekum Chelsea owner, Nana Kwame Nketiah

Obed Nana Kwame Nketiah, owner of Berekum Chelsea, has disclosed that the promised GH¢1 million support from the government and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to Ghana Premier League (GPL) clubs has not yet been paid.

Speaking on Kessben Sports, Mr Nketiah raised concerns over the outstanding payment, which was expected to provide financial support to clubs participating in the country’s top-flight football competition.

According to the Berekum Chelsea owner, the funds have yet to reach the clubs despite the commitment to provide the financial assistance.

His comments have renewed attention on the financial challenges facing Ghana Premier League clubs, many of which depend on sponsorships and other sources of revenue to cover operational costs, player salaries and match-day expenses.

The disclosure also raises questions about when the promised support will be disbursed to help the clubs manage their financial obligations during the season.
