The president of the Ghana Rugby Association (GRA) says the current erratic power supply in the country is unfortunate, sad and wrong.
Speaking to Kessben Television, Herbert Mensah, who was the former chairman of Asante Kotoko FC, said so many things in this country are fundamentally wrong and needed to be changed and lambasted the government, describing the power situation as disgraceful.
“You do not appoint people who are dinner room prefects to hold ministerial portfolios, you must have control over the arrogant when people attack personalities for the wrong reasons. I always wait to see whether there is a sense of leadership in this country,” he added.
Taking ownership
Mr Mensah further stated that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are trying to take ownership of something that they are incapable of resolving, adding that the government must be open and honest to the people on why the situation is the way it is.
He added that they must also explain the way forward and how they are going to find solutions because no business can survive the fluctuation of power supply.
Meanwhile, President John Mahama has said that the economy is in good shape despite the power crisis facing the country.
Amid reports that some companies had laid off workers due to the power crisis, the President said smart businesses were not laying off workers, but were rather investing to improve their production capacities.
This, he said, was because those companies had faith in the ability of the government to end the power crisis and improve the country’s electricity generation capacity.
