Jackie Appiah to appear before World Cup Commission
Award winning actress, Jackie Appiah will on Monday, appear before the Justice Dzamefe led Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Ghana’s dismal performance at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The popular actress has been mentioned as one of Ghana’s World Cup ambassadors paid over $20,000 each on a state-sponsored all-expenses paid trip to the global football tournament in the South American country in June.
They were to supposedly lead cheering of the Black Stars and help brand Ghana in Brazil.
Former Minister of Youth and Sports Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has already told the Commission that each of the ambassadors were paid $200 each during their stay in Brazil, even though many of them were not able to go and watch Ghana’s matches in Forta Leza against Germany and in Brasilia versus Portugal.
Other persons appearing before the commission on Monday include Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice President, Fred Crenstil and former national football team stars, CK Akunnor and Augustine Ahinful.
