Vote for Nana Addo – Abu Ramadan
The National Youth Organizer of the People’s National Convention, (PNC), Abu Ramadan is asking all PNC members to vigorously campaign and vote for Presidential candidate of the New patriotic Party, Nana Akufo-Addo as opposed to the party’s own flagbearer on December 7.
“I am going to campaign and support the candidature Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.”
He has also called on party members to vast their ballot for their Parliamentary candidates.
Mr. Ramadan explained to Citi News, his call stems from the fact that the flagbearer of the party, Hassan Ayariga “has failed to live up to expectation of the people of the party. He has failed to blaze the shining trail that Dr Hilla Limann had blazed for the party and which Edward Mahama continued with excellence.”
“I am sure certain people like us who are out to support Ayariga because we felt there was the need for us to have a change of leadership. I will not be campaigning for Hassan Ayariga, going forward in the next 13 days into the elections.”
According to Mr. Ramadan Mr. Ayariga is “dye in the wool a member of another party and is campaigning for another flagbearer rather than himself. That is why the big question keeps coming up by people who are really interested in the actions of the PNC.”
He questioned if Mr. Ayariga will vote for himself on the day of elections adding that he will concentrate on campaigning for Parliamentary candidates of the party.
Abu Ramadan also accused Hassan Ayariga of being ignorant of the content of the party’s 2012 manifesto.
He said: “I am going to push for party members to give the strongest of support to our parliamentary candidates and give our strongest of support to the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party. Hassan Ayariga himself believes in the free SHS policy because in an interview with Bola Ray about three four months ago, he came out clearly to say he was going to provide free education.”
Meanwhile, the PNC National Chairman, Alhaji Ahmed Ramadan is calling for ceasefire between some the aggrieved members of the party and its flagbearer.
“Coming two weeks to the elections, it is really very unfortunate. I know in every human institution, there is bound to be some disagreement here and there but I believe the best is to resolve it internally so that together we can move on.”
