Greater Accra Tescon petitions elections Committee Chairman Mr Mac Manu

The New Patriotic Party’s National Executives Elections comes up this weekend beginning from 16th ,17th of July 2022 but the election is already shrouded in controversy on the election album pertaining to the the intellectual wing of the party being TESCON in the Greater Accra region. They have however petitioned the chairman of the party’s election committee Mr Mac Manu to intervene to prevent them from being disenfranchised.

Below is their petition:

TO: THE NATIONAL ELECTIONS COMMITTEE
CC:
FROM: ELEVEN TESCON PRESIDENTS
DATE: 6th JULY, 2022
SUBJECT: PETITION TO CORRECT THE ABNORMALITIES IN GREATER ACCRA TESCON LIST
According to the “RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR CONDUCT OF NATIONAL ANNUAL DELEGATES CONFERENCE” released by the National General Secretary, and in line with article 9 of the Constitution of the New Patriotic Party, the TESCON President (or his representative in the absence of the President) from each of the recognized tertiary institutions in the country is named as a delegate for the National Delegates Conference.
The petitioner wishes to draw your attention to the fact that some TESCON Presidents who voted in the regional elections have been changed and replaced with people who are aliens to the said institution they claim to be Presidents at.
In the case of Accra Technical University, the institution together with the name of the President (Emmanuel Darko) have been taken out of the list.
The petitioner humbly ask that with the retention of the Greater Accra Regional TESCON Register as was used for the Regional Delegates Conference, those affected by this anomaly will be rectified.
The affected delegates are:
