Only Ken Agyapong Can Cure Ghana’s Problems – The Base Ghana Pushes for Grand Political Merger

The Base Ghana movement has renewed calls for a broad political alliance to back former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong for the presidency, insisting he is the leader best positioned to address Ghana’s long-standing challenges.

Speaking about the group’s mammoth walk in the Ashanti Region via a zoom interview on Kessben Maakye show in Accra, the Director of Legal Affairs for The Base Ghana, Lawyer Agbotey, appealed to supporters across the political divide to unite behind Agyapong.
According to him, the movement is focused on the well-being of Ghana and would welcome both NDC and NPP supporters to rally behind Kennedy Agyapong as a flagbearer and, ultimately, President.

Lawyer Agbotey argued that “it is only Ken Agyapong that can find an antidote to Ghana’s long-standing sickness (problems),” describing him as the right leader to transform the country.

He further expressed confidence that Kennedy Agyapong would accept an invitation to lead The Base, claiming the movement was established because of his leadership and influence.
The legal director also revealed that several like-minded political groups are prepared to join the movement once Agyapong officially emerges, adding that The Base already has structures in place to accommodate all groups interested in forming a united front.

On the issue of leadership, he stressed that the eventual flagbearer of the proposed alliance would be determined through discussions among the leaders of the various factions once the merger process is completed.
