An aspiring national organizer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Agyei Yeboah, has stirred controversy after openly supporting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to remove Kasoa NDC Chairman Ofosu Agyare from his position as being requested by women in Kasoa.
According to Yeboah, such a move would significantly improve the NPP’s chances of reclaiming the Kasoa parliamentary seat in future elections.
“I will be happy if the NDC evicts Ofosu Agyare from the Kasoa NDC chairmanship,” he stated.
In a discussion on Kessben Maakye show in Accra in relation to alleged sexual scandal with the sitting member of Parliament, Naa Koryo, the NPP national organizer aspirant described Ofosu Agyare as a political “bulldozer” whose influence and sacrifices have greatly contributed to the NDC’s strength in the constituency.
He praised Agyare’s role in the party’s electoral successes, particularly his efforts in helping the NDC secure the Kasoa seat.
“The kind of sacrifices Ofosu Agyare has made for the NDC in Kasoa, often using his own resources, are enormous,” Yeboah noted.
He also commended Agyare’s political strategy during the parliamentary contest against former MP Hawa Koomson, describing his tactics as “fantastic.”
However, Yeboah raised concerns over allegations reportedly involving Agyare, questioning whether the claims could damage his standing within the party.
He further remarked that he would welcome any demonstration by NDC women in Kasoa demanding the chairman’s removal.
The comments have since generated discussion among political observers, with many viewing them as an unusual endorsement from a political opponent, while others see them as a strategic acknowledgment of Agyare’s influence in Kasoa politics.
The NDC has not yet officially responded to the remarks
