All the transformers being replaced were bought by the NPP Gov’t, the NDC Gov’t hasn’t purchased a single transformer – Hon Andrew Bediako

Former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Jaman South, Andrew Bediako, has sought to clarify ongoing discussions about the replacement of electricity transformers in parts of the country, attributing the original procurement to the previous administration.

Speaking on the matter, Andrew Bediako, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), stated that all transformers currently being replaced were originally purchased under the NPP government.

He further claimed that the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration has not procured any new transformers since taking office, a situation he says makes ongoing replacements dependent on earlier investments.

According to him, the issue highlights the importance of continuity in infrastructure development, particularly in the energy distribution sector, where equipment upgrades are essential for stable power supply.
