Few generation, transmission, and distribution, NPP Gov’t invested less in the Energy sector – Hussein Ibrahim

Communication team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hussein Ibrahim, has criticized the former New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration’s investment in Ghana’s energy sector, claiming it was insufficient to meet growing national demand.

Speaking on Kessben FM, Hussein Ibrahim, a member of the National Democratic Congress communication team, said the NPP government invested relatively little in key areas of the power sector, including generation, transmission, and distribution.

According to him, the sector under the previous administration experienced limited expansion, which he argued contributed to ongoing challenges in electricity supply and infrastructure reliability.

He maintained that inadequate investment across the value chain of the energy sector has had a ripple effect on households and businesses, stressing the need for more strategic and sustained development of power infrastructure.
