Hon. Sheriff Ghali says investing in women entrepreneurs is critical to Ghana’s economic development.
The call was made during a youth entrepreneurship engagement organized as part of activities marking International Women’s Day.
Speaking at the event, Sheriff Ghali said the programme forms part of efforts by the Ghana Chamber of Youth Entrepreneurs (GCYE) to promote women entrepreneurship across the country.
According to him, the initiative aligns with the International Women’s Day with a theme “Give to Gain,” which encourages greater investment in women-led businesses.
He stressed that entrepreneurship goes beyond buying and selling, noting that it involves creativity and innovation that can open up new economic opportunities.
Hon. Ghali further announced that the programme will feature a dialogue on women entrepreneurship aimed at encouraging more women to venture into business and leadership roles.
He emphasized that women entrepreneurs are the future and must be supported to contribute meaningfully to national development.
Also speaking at the engagement, HR Director of the National Youth Authority, Ekow Eshun, said the Authority is working with international partners including the Commonwealth Alliance for Youth Entrepreneurship to build strong networks for young innovators.
According to him, the initiative seeks to bring together young entrepreneurs across Ghana to share ideas, resources and opportunities that will help grow their businesses.
According to the organizers, the initiative will continue to provide platforms for young entrepreneurs, particularly women, to access opportunities and build sustainable businesses.
