Patrick Asford Boadu declares bid for NDC Weija-Gbawe constituency chairmanship

Patrick Asford Boadu, a journalist with Radio Gold 90.5 FM and the incumbent Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Constituency Chairman in the party’s 2026 internal elections.
Mr. Boadu says his decision to enter the race is driven by a strong desire to empower the party’s grassroots and prioritise the welfare of branch executives who form the backbone of the NDC’s political structure.
According to him, his leadership will focus on strengthening the party at the grassroots level and ensuring that branch executives receive the necessary support to effectively mobilise members and drive the party’s agenda within the constituency.
“Branch Executives First! Empowerment is my priority,” he emphasised, noting that a well-resourced and motivated grassroots structure is critical to the party’s electoral success.
The declaration coincided with his birthday, an occasion he used to express appreciation to party members in the constituency for their support and camaraderie over the years.
“Today, I thank God for another year of life and service. I am deeply grateful to all comrades in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency for the support, friendship, and shared commitment to the growth of our great party,” he said.
He further pledged to work closely with all party members to promote unity, progress, and electoral victory for the NDC in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency and across Ghana.
Mr. Boadu is an accomplished media professional, political communicator, and public affairs analyst with extensive experience in journalism, governance, and diplomacy.
He currently works with Radio Gold 90.5 FM as a Producer and Presidential Reporter and is a member of the Presidential Press Corps, where he covers major political developments, governance issues, and national policy discussions.
In terms of academic credentials, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Methodist University Ghana. He also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Relations and Diplomacy from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
Currently, he is pursuing another Master’s degree in Public Policy and Governance at Methodist University Ghana, a move he says is aimed at deepening his expertise in governance systems, policy formulation, and democratic leadership.
Within the NDC, Mr. Boadu has played a key role in shaping the party’s communication strategy in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency through effective political messaging, media engagement, and grassroots mobilisation.
He believes his professional experience, academic background, and commitment to grassroots empowerment position him well to lead the constituency and strengthen the party’s structures ahead of future elections.
