The fact that Ghanaians voted us (NPP) out doesn’t mean that if the NDC havent paid cocoa farmers, we should not talk about that, they should pay the farmers – Sam Pyne

Samuel Pyne, former Mayor of Kumasi, has called on the current NDC government to fulfill its financial obligations to farmers, stressing that political allegiance should not silence legitimate concerns.
Speaking on Kessben FM during a discussion with host Wofa Kofi Appiah, Pyne emphasized that the fact that Ghanaians voted for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the past does not mean issues under the current administration should be ignored.
According to Pyne, farmers play a critical role in Ghana’s economy and food security, and delays in paying them for their produce or services are unacceptable regardless of which political party is in power. He noted that holding the government accountable is not an act of political sabotage but a responsibility aimed at protecting the welfare of citizens. “If farmers have not been paid, we must talk about it. They deserve to be paid,” he stated.
Pyne urged political actors and citizens alike to prioritize the national interest over partisan loyalty, insisting that governments must always be reminded of their duty to meet commitments made to hardworking Ghanaians, especially farmers who form the backbone of the economy.
