For 8 years under Akufo Addo, 31 communities didn’t have electricity in our district, 1 year under Mahama only 4 communities are now without electricity – Ibrahim Yamba Nelson Issaka

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South East, Ibrahim Yamba Nelson Issaka, has highlighted what he describes as significant progress in rural electrification under the current Mahama-led administration, contrasting it with the previous government’s record.

Speaking on Kessben FM’s Maakye show with host Wofa Kofi Appiah, the DCE stated that for eight years under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, as many as 31 communities in the district were left without access to electricity. According to him, this situation has drastically changed within a short period.

Issaka revealed that after just one year under President John Dramani Mahama’s leadership, the number of communities without electricity in Ahafo Ano South East has reduced to only four. He described the development as a clear indication of commitment to infrastructure development and inclusive growth.

He emphasized that access to electricity is critical for education, healthcare, small businesses, and overall improvement in living standards. The DCE added that the progress made so far has brought renewed hope to residents who had waited for years to be connected to the national grid.

Issaka assured residents that efforts are ongoing to ensure the remaining communities are connected, stressing that no part of the district will be left behind in development.
