Fmr. Tepa MCE Martina took 10% of my Ghc150,000 contract before signing – Manchester Chairman explodes
Story by: Akua-Piesie

Louis Owusu Mensah, Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Manchester Chapter in the United Kingdom and a known member of the Kennedy Agyapong campaign team abroad, has levelled serious allegations against Hon. Martina Appiah Nyantakyi, former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ahafo Ano North (Tepa).
Speaking in an interview with Akua-Piesie Asare Bediako, Chairman Owusu Mensah claimed that during the NPP administration, the former MCE allegedly demanded GH¢15,000, representing 10% of a GH¢150,000 contract, before approving and signing the necessary documents.
According to him, he travelled from Manchester to Ghana to pursue the said contract, only to be told that the agreement would not be signed unless he paid the 10 percent amount. He asserted that the contract documents remained unattended to for about a month because he initially refused to pay.
He alleged that “the former MCE declined to sign the contract until I paid GH¢15,000,” insisting that he eventually made the payment but the contract delivered was “below standard.” He further claimed that he has still not received payment for the GH¢150,000 contract sum.
Chairman Owusu Mensah also expressed disappointment in the former NPP leadership at the time, alleging that even if he had complained to then-President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo or then-Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, “nothing would have happened.”
He added that if Hon. Kennedy Agyapong had been president at the time, he would have had the confidence to report the matter to him.
Threatens to Expose Anyone Who Attacks Kennedy Agyapong:
In a strongly worded warning, Owusu Mensah stated that anyone within the NPP who attempts to attack Hon. Kennedy Agyapong during the party’s run-up to the 2026 presidential primaries should expect to be confronted with “exposed secrets.”
He insisted that all campaign activities must adhere strictly to party regulations and urged delegates to remain vigilant as the internal contest approaches.
