Bissa Sukuma Festival Fosters Unity and Discipline Among Youth

The annual Bissa Sukuma Festival, held in Accra, brought together members of the Bissa community and other ethnic groups to celebrate their rich cultural heritage and strengthen bonds of unity. Organized by the Bissa Development Association (BDA) in collaboration with the Greater Accra Council of Bissa Chiefs, the festival served as a platform for promoting inter-tribal harmony and collective progress.

The Greater Accra Bissa Chief, Chir Gouta Alhaji Salisu Ali Dabre IV, emphasized the importance of unity and togetherness for collective progress. He cautioned the youth against drug abuse, stressing that discipline and mutual respect are crucial for sustaining development.

In a passionate appeal, the President of the Bissa Development Association (BDA), Alhaji Shaibu Musah Gutare, urged the people of Bawku to embrace peace and unity. He stressed that continued conflict would only hinder development in the area and called on all factions to lay down their arms and prioritize progress over division.

Alhaji Shaibu Musah Gutare also lamented the devastating effects of illegal mining on the environment, water bodies, and human health. He called on Ghanaians, especially the youth in mining communities, to desist from such harmful practices in pursuit of quick wealth.

The festival underscored the importance of unity, discipline, and mutual respect in building stronger communities. As the Bissa community and other ethnic groups come together to celebrate their cultural heritage, they are also urged to prioritize peace, progress, and environmental sustainability.
